Chapter 1: Empowerment
In this unit we have read about Power and Authority, Personal Empowerment, the 5 types of empowerment that lead to personal empowerment, and Disempowerment. We have had a number of class discussions about how we can empower ourselves and what it means to be disempowered. Below are some notes a fellow teacher created that I believe will help student understand this unit.Chapter 1 Notes

The document below is a worksheet we will complete on the story the Home Children. Pp.16-19. This is a true story focusing on the disempowerment of children in the early 20th century.
